Osteopath Kyle Eldredge performed the procedure using Intuitive’s da Vinci Surgical System, which enables surgeons to perform complex procedures through tiny incisions. Patients typically benefit from shorter hospital stays, less pain, reduced blood loss and quicker recovery times.

“Reaching 5,000 robotic surgical cases is a testament to the dedication and expertise of our surgical team and the trust our patients place in us,” Wellington Regional CEO Pam Tahan says. “We are committed to providing the highest-quality care and continuously advancing our surgical capabilities.”

She says the da Vinci system is a key element, “allowing us to offer our patients the most advanced surgical options available.”
