“NaNoWriMo Prep Workshop” is an immersive workshop hosted by Florida Atlantic University students and faculty in honor of National Novel Writing Month. The workshop prepares writers for NaNoWrimo, an annual challenge for budding authors to write a novel during November. The session offers writing-related giveaways. Registration is not required. The workshop occurs Aug. 6 from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Hibiscus Room on the third floor.
“The Florida Highwaymen” discusses the history of black Florida artists in the 1960s and ’70s who portrayed Florida landscapes and wildlife. Michelle Hearn, senior curator for the Museum of Florida History, leads the class. This event, which does not require registration, takes place Aug. 6 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. in the auditorium on the third floor.
