The nonprofit Palm Beach Photographic Centre’s 29th annual FOTOfusion will honor photojournalist David Burnett, the recipient of the FOTOmentor Award 2024.
The center is showcasing Burnett’s work in the exhibition “David Burnett: I Saw — A 66-Year Journey Around the World” from Jan. 30 to Feb. 3.
As a co-founder of Contact Press Images, a New York-based photojournalism agency entering its 48th year, Burnett has played a pivotal role in shaping the industry. American Photo magazine has honored him as one of the “100 Most Important People in Photography.”
“The upcoming FOTOfusion will be dynamic as ever, with five days of live presentations by numerous world-class photographers,” says Fatima NeJame, the president and CEO of the Palm Beach Photographic Centre. “This will be a great opportunity for professional and hobbyist photographers to engage, connect and network with some of the leading names in digital photography.” The FOTOfusion awards dinner will be Jan. 31.
FOTOFusion, described as the place “where creativity and technology fuse,” draws thousands of professional and hobbyist photographers to West Palm Beach.
The event offers workshops, lectures, panel discussions, multimedia presentations, portfolio reviews, computer classes, demonstrations and photo shoots. Renowned photographers, digital imaging artists and picture editors contribute time and expertise to serve as educators and mentors and foster creativity among participants of all levels and ages.
