Okeeheelee Nature Center to celebrate Earth Day

The Okeeheelee Nature Center is celebrating Earth Day with fun, learning and environmental appreciation Saturday, April 19, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The free event is open to all ages at the center within Okeeheelee Park at 7715 Forest Hill Blvd., West Palm Beach.
Hosted by the Friends of Okeeheelee Nature Center, the annual celebration highlights environmental awareness, conservation, health and wellness, and recreation through a variety of activities and exhibits.
Highlights include:
• Live encounters with native wildlife.
• Nature tours led by experienced naturalists.
• Releases of rehabilitated animals back into the wild.
• Environmental exhibitors and vendors showcasing eco-friendly products, conservation programs and community initiatives.
• Mindfulness-in-nature tours focused on health, relaxation and connection with the natural world.
• Eco-friendly crafts.
• Interactive story time for children.
• Meet and greet with Oakly, the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation mascot.
• Face painting.
• Food trucks.
• Raffles to support the Friends of Okeeheelee Nature Center.
Since opening in 1992, the Okeeheelee Nature Center has served as a hub for environmental education and wildlife conservation in Palm Beach County. Nestled within the 90-acre wooded preserve of Okeeheelee Park, the center features trails, exhibits and live animal displays that showcase the region’s natural heritage.
Earth Day admission is free, including all activities. Attendees are encouraged to bring refillable water bottles to support eco-conscious practices. Parking is available on site.
