Ocean Day cleanup set for June 8

The Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department is marking World Ocean Day on June 8 with a land and waterway cleanup from 9 a.m. to noon at Coral Cove Park. The Parks and Recreation Department is partnering with the Beach Bucket Foundation, Blowing Rocks Preserve, Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area and Visit Palm Beach for the event.

Ocean Day participants of all ages are invited to join the cleanup through walking, kayaking or paddleboarding. All cleanup supplies will be provided, and those who wish to paddle down the waterway may bring their own kayak or paddleboard or reserve a discounted rental at www.visitpalmbeach.com.

World Ocean Day supports collaborative conservation, working with a network of youth and organizational leaders in over 100 countries. World Ocean Day is supported by the World Ocean Day Youth Advisory Council. Learn more at worldoceanday.org.

Coral Cove Park is at 1600 Beach Road in Tequesta. The event is free.
