2 p.m. to midnight March 18 at 933 28th St., West Palm Beach
Owner Joe DeStephan opened Northwood Art & Music Warehouse just over a year ago, primarily using his large property’s half-circle warehouse interior to present live music and visual art. The unique venue, west of the busy Northwood section of West Palm Beach, also features a less-used outdoor area with a tiki bar, ample seating and an even more unusual stage.
That yard stage, a repurposed shipping container that unlocks and opens up for live music, comes alive March 18 for the Northwood Blues Fest. The event features four roots music artists, including a popular headliner from Pompano Beach.
Opening acts are the Bennett Mateo Band, led by vocalist Jade Bennett and husband and guitarist Gino Matteo; Dokta D and the Powers That Be, led by the International Blues Challenge winner within blues societies from Baltimore to Southwest Florida; and singer/guitarist Alex Lopez & The Xpress. Closing the show is Shaw Davis & the Black Ties, led by its incendiary namesake South Florida guitarist and vocalist.
