Green Cay Nature Center & Wetlands, west of Boynton Beach, contains a self-guided tour along its 1.5 miles of elevated boardwalk, 100 acres of wetlands, animals and a gift shop. Green Cay is the newest nature center in the county.
“Bird Talk and Walk!” consists of a Florida bird presentation followed by a birding tour guided with a Green Cay naturalist. It takes place July 2 and 16 at 9:30 a.m.
Participants can engage in “Nature Journaling” to understand the basics of nature journaling. This hands-on experience enables journalists to observe and record what they see around them. This program is July 9 at 9:30 a.m.
“Reptiles & Amphibians,” taught by a Green Cay naturalist, takes place July 23 at 10 a.m.
A special nighttime event, “Night Stalkers,” takes participants ages 9 and up along a boardwalk tour of nocturnal nature. The event is July 27 at 8 p.m.
The price for each event ranges from $3 to $5 per person. Reservations are required, and spots are limited. Go here to register.
