A milestone was reached Sept. 30 when Palm Beach County officials celebrated the start of construction on Phase II of Canyon District Park, a much-awaited addition to the unincorporated area west of Boynton Beach.
Phase II will offer residents a wide range of recreational opportunities, including four lighted baseball/softball fields, an inclusive playground, two sand volleyball courts, a picnic area, restrooms, a baseball storage building, batting cages and 273 parking spaces.
The construction project, led by Kaufman-Lynn Construction, has a total cost of $29 million and is expected to be finished by early 2026.
Jennifer Cirillo, the county’s parks and recreation director, says, “This is an exciting milestone for our community. Phase II of Canyon District Park will offer residents a destination for recreation, sports and family activities. We are especially grateful to the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners and community park advocates for their continued support in enhancing our county’s recreational infrastructure.”
