Billionaire real estate developer Jeff Greene has sold the historic Palm Beach Post Office building to The Breakers Palm Beach for $28 million.

The property, at 95 N. County Road, was built in 1936 and served as Palm Beach’s main post office. Greene acquired the 13,932-square-foot building from the U.S. Postal Service in 2011 for $3.7 million and used it as the headquarters for his company, Florida Sunshine Investments.

The Breakers, a resort founded in 1903 by Henry Flagler, has strategically expanded its real estate holdings around its 140-acre property. The acquisition aligns with ongoing efforts to revitalize the Royal Poinciana Way district.

Paul Leone, the CEO of The Breakers, said the purchase marks the final phase of a seven-year initiative to enhance the island’s historic main street and surrounding neighborhood. Plans for the building are under review but include a commitment to historic preservation.

Greene has been active in the Palm Beach real estate market, including developments in West Palm Beach such as One West Palm.
