Bird Talk & Tour: Wetland Birds at Green Cay

Begin your day with a Florida bird demonstration, then join one of Green Cay's naturalists for a one-hour bird-watching excursion. Don't forget to bring your binoculars and field guide if you have them.

The Florida Everglades are home to a diverse range of bird species. Some of the notable birds you can find include:


Great Egret: Tall, elegant bird with white plumage and a yellow bill.


Roseate Spoonbill: Known for its pink feathers and unique spoon-shaped bill.


Wood Stork: Large wading bird with a white body and bald, dark head.


Great Blue Heron: One of the largest herons, with blue-gray feathers.


White Ibis: White body with a bright red face and down-curved bill.


Snowy Egret: Smaller egret with striking yellow feet and a black beak.
