“Ain’t Too Proud” tells the story of the iconic Motown group The Temptations. The musical follows the group’s journey from their early days in Detroit to their rise to fame in the 1960s.
The show, which received the Tony for best choreography, also explores the members’ personal struggles and challenges in the music industry.
The musical features many of The Temptations’ hit songs, including “My Girl,” “Papa Was a Rollin’ Stone” and “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg.”
In addition to the music, the show delves into the social and political climate of the era, touching on civil rights, the Vietnam War and racial bias in the music industry.
