Cypress Key, the housing development at 11911 Cypress Key Way in Royal Palm Beach, is set to extend its commercial influence along Southern Boulevard.
The Boulevard Shoppes at Cypress Key, on Southern Boulevard just east of Forest Hill Boulevard, will have at least three restaurants, including the first Palm Beach County location of the Maple Street Biscuit Co., the Jacksonville-launched breakfast chain that Cracker Barrel acquired in 2019. Mission BBQ will open its second Palm Beach County location.
Chipotle Mexican Grill will open with a twist. It will have no menu board to order from, only a pickup window for customers who’ve ordered online.
A Salon Suites hair and beauty location also is set to be part of the Boulevard Shoppes.
Developer City Construction & Development specializes in upscale shopping centers and has made an outsized imprint across Florida.
New development, both residential and commercial, is keeping pace with the growth of Royal Palm Beach. According to Data USA, the village’s population grew by 1.68% from 2019 to 2020, and the median household income rose by 1.28%.
A mixed-use development, Cypress Key features an assisted-living and memory care facility, Inspired Living at Royal Palm Beach, and medical office space in addition to its town homes and single-family houses. Its four floor plans range from 2,394 to 3,679 square feet, and amenities include a clubhouse, a resort-style pool and a fitness center.
But it’s the remaining commercial space, scheduled for groundbreaking in early 2023, that’s attracting attention and tenants now. Nicole Messer, City Construction’s leasing and acquisitions manager, says she expects another site, with 7,149 square feet of space, to be filled soon because of its surrounding businesses and prime location.
